The Mochila Review is a national undergraduate journal published with support from the English and Modern Languages department at Missouri Western State University. Our goal is to publish the best short stories, poems, and creative essays from the next generation of important authors: undergraduate writers. Our staff, comprised primarily of undergraduate students, understands the publishing challenges that emerging writers face and is committed to helping talented students gain wider audiences in the pages of The Mochila Review and on our website.

We read submissions from current undergraduate students from Sept. 1 to May 1, and we try to respond in two to three months. Simultaneous submissions are acceptable as long as you email us (mochila@missouriwestern.edu) if your work is accepted elsewhere.We do not accept work by current Missouri Western State University students.

If your work is selected for publication, we ask for your permission to feature your work on our website as well as in print. We claim first publication rights only, after which all rights revert to the writer. We will mail you two complimentary copies of The Mochila Review, and additional copies are available on our website, www.mochilareview.com, at a discounted price.
